If you can make a girl laugh, you can make her do anything.
When Marilyn Monroe said that, trust me, she was referring to Siva Karthikeyan. I know he is being heavily criticized after Maan Karate, but coming to think about it, I don’t think we are giving him the due credit that he deserves.
Siva Karthikeyan, unlike his Kollywood counterparts, is a Self-Made man.
He has nothing backing him up, except of course, his education, talent and his ability to charm people with his smile (Also add perfectly sculpted good-looks, Greek-God-like physique and Prince-Charming-like body language to that list). That’s the most impressive thing about him. The only person Siva Karthikeyan depends on is Siva Karthikeyan.
They say that his movies aren’t up to his VJ standards (*cough*cough* Maan Karate Climax *cough* ) however, he will continue to be my most favorite actor, next to Surya. Here again, the problem isn’t with Siva Karthikeyan or his acting skills. The guy actually gives his best. The problem is actually with the script and there isn’t anything he can do about it.
Siva Karthikeyan’s not just a happy-go-lucky chocolate boy.
He’s an Actor who loves what he does and he has my respect for that. He’s a talented dancer. Our Mr.Long Legs is the male version of Aishwarya Rai. He dances with ease and grace. He enjoys the process and it shows. He can make you laugh with just a single shot of that sly sarcastic look of his and there isn’t a girl who wouldn’t fall for the way he speaks. He has managed to keep an entire generation spell bound with his multi-talented personality and that’s how I’d define a Star.
The most ridiculous criticism about him is when people say that Vijay Tv created Siva Karthikeyan. I strongly disagree, because Real Artists cannot be created. Creativity is a spark. It’s in them even before they know it. The spark only needs to be kindled for the world to see it. The force that kindles the spark doesn’t own it. Real talent has a habit of breaking out. Destiny will pull it to the height it deserves. In the real sense, Siva Karthikeyan only ‘evolved’ at Vijay TV, which seemed to the world like he was created. Siva Karthikeyan would have been a star, with or without Vijay Tv, just as much as A.R.R. would have been a music maestro with or without Roja.
He is more than just a box office success formula. He is a phenomenon that has managed to take Kollywood by surprise and is an inspiration to young people. Like him or hate him, you will not be able to sit still and tight lipped when he appears on screen. A slight sly look, a sarcastic smile or his twisted jokes are sure to make you grin from ear to ear.
Siva Karthikeyan isn’t just a silver-screen hero. He’s a custom-made star whose stardom will continue to fascinate men, women and kids alike. That’s why he’s a phenomenon.
